New Design Studio Photo Tour - Office
The private office at the new studio provides another space for computer use, collaborative work, client meetings, and even a place for renewal and recharge.
Like the other rooms in the studio, it too is filled with natural light, and though it may be small, it is packed with lots of design style.
YOU ARE HERE
FURNITURE & ACCESSORIES
Included in the space are some of my favorite furniture pieces that were in the old studio - a white enameled desk, two-drawer filing cabinet, a wood framed rattan chair, a mixed-metal sunburst mirror, glass table lamp - plus an original, cherished art print from Christie Adelle’s modern art collection.
Additionally the space includes a tall, glass display case, two guest chairs, woven ottoman, an over-dyed vintage rug - plus some great foil-pressed art prints that I found while on a recent trip to San Francisco.
Adding depth and interest to the space is a tapestry that adorns the wall above the desk.

THE TAKE AWAY
When planning small work spaces, resist lining the furniture along the walls but instead plan the space with depth and layering in mind.
Consider placing the desk away from the wall, and facing out into the room, with the side of the desk being placed against the wall. From there, include a table lamp on the end of the desk and artwork above. This simple but affective placement will be both functionally and visually impactful.
From there fill in with other pieces, being sure to include a tall furniture piece to help expand the space vertically and to add interest.
Don’t hesitate to add slight angles to the furniture placement to add dynamic energy to the space.
