DESIGNING A DESIGN STUDIO - ROCKLIN CA
Happy Sunday! I'm sort of hijacking my regular Simply Sundays content to share more about my new design studio. I hope you enjoy following along!
NEW DESIGN STUDIO
A couple of weeks ago, I shared photos of the exterior of the new studio and all the changes that will be made. Since then there has been a lot of planning and work going on for the interior as well.
Even though the floor plan of the building is a bit chopped up, the eight large windows and 9’-0” ceilings had me from the start!
FRESHENING UP THE SPACE
As you can see, the space is in good shape. It just needed some freshening up. Since these photos were taken about a week ago, we've made, or will be making the following changes:
New paint through-out
New flooring and baseboards
New interior doors & hardware
New light fixtures
New plumbing fixtures
New window coverings
I'm sure it's no surprise that the new space is going to be light and bright, and airy! It will have a modern, California coastal vibe (NorCal style) with a mix of natural materials. Here are a few concept photos that have inspired the design:
NATURAL TEXTILES, FIBERS & WOOD - To acheive the costal vibe we'll have a nice mix of natural textiles. including linen, flax and canvas. Adding to the feel will be jute and sisal and mixed woods.
WHITE PAINT - The interior walls, ceiling, trims and doors will be painted white, along with many of the furniture pieces.
BLUSH ACCENTS - The color blush will be sprinkled throughout the space.
COME BACK SOON
That's it for now, but lot's has happened in the last week with transforming an awkward office space into what will be a beautiful and well designed studio! Come back soon to see all the progress.
